Hurricane Katrina

The destruction left behind by Hurricane Katrina has been mind-boggling and we express our heartfelt sympathy to those who have experienced such tremendous loss.

The Atlanta Metro Lions went on duty by the time the 4th displaced person arrived at Adamsville Recreation Center Shelter in SW Atlanta. Club members immediately began donating water, food and clothing. Together with Wayfield Foods, donations have included 60 cases of diapers, over 700 cases of water, 4 cases of toothpaste and more. A number of Lions have been on duty at the center daily. We are glad to be able to help those in need and will continue to be there.

The Adamsville Rec Ctr Shelter is now a service center for those in need.
